Account Deletion & Data Removal
Smorio distinguishes automatic hosted-content lifecycle deletion from a verified request to delete the entire Studio account.

1. Automatic Hosted-Content Lifecycle Deletion
Automatic lifecycle deletion removes expired hosted content without necessarily deleting the Studio account.
- Free Trial: The 10-day trial has no grace period and trial-created content enters the deletion queue at expiry.
- Paid plans: Current paid-plan retention rules apply as described in the retention policy.
2. Entire-Account Deletion Request
A registered studio can open Account Settings, accept the deletion terms, type DELETE MY ACCOUNT, and complete the requested account-security verification.
When the account cannot be accessed, email grievance@smorio.com with enough non-sensitive information to locate the account. Do not send passwords, OTPs, payment credentials, or identity documents unless Smorio specifically explains a secure verification process.
Open Account Settings3. Administrative Approval & 30-Day Recovery Window
Submitting a deletion request does not immediately erase the account. After ownership verification and administrative approval, Smorio schedules the account for permanent deletion and starts a 30-day recovery window.
- The account is locked during the recovery window so it cannot continue normal use while deletion is pending.
- The approval email is sent from Smorio's no-reply sender and contains a secure recovery link.
- The recovery link remains valid only until the scheduled deadline and is cryptographically signed by Smorio.
- Recovery cancels the scheduled deletion and restores normal account access; the user then signs in again using the normal authentication flow.
- On the 31st day, final deletion processing becomes eligible. After the permanent purge has completed, the account cannot be recovered.
This 30-day recovery period is a Smorio product policy. It should not be read as a statement that every jurisdiction legally requires exactly 30 days.
4. What May Be Removed
When the permanent account-deletion process runs, Smorio may remove or anonymize the active Studio profile, account credentials, folders, Smart Print configurations, hosted photos and videos, active QR/playback access, and other workspace data that is eligible for deletion.
5. Records That May Remain
Limited information may remain where required or reasonably necessary, including payment, invoice, accounting, tax, security, fraud-prevention, support, dispute, legal-hold, policy-evidence, deletion-job, and purge-audit records. Where applicable law requires retention, that legal requirement controls.
Smorio follows data-minimisation principles for retained records and does not retain them for continued Smart Print playback after the related active media has been removed.
6. Privacy, Erasure & Grievance Contact
Smorio supports privacy and deletion requests through the Studio workflow and support channels. For privacy or data-rights questions, contact legal@smorio.com. If a request cannot be fulfilled exactly as asked because a retention obligation applies, Smorio will explain the applicable limitation where permitted.
For accounts affected by legally required retention, Smorio may retain processing records for the period required by the applicable law and may disclose the retained categories in response to a valid rights request.
