Terms of Service

Last Updated: August 7, 2026

Plain-Language Summary

A studio may use Smorio to pair selected printed photos with videos and deliver them through the Smart Print QR workflow. The studio must have permission for its media, follow plan limits, keep source-file backups, share QR access carefully, and pay manually for any paid plan or enabled add-on. The 10-day Free Trial has no grace period: upgrade before its exact expiry time to preserve trial content. Smorio does not guarantee uninterrupted service, permanent storage, playback on every device, or absolute security.

1. Agreement, Operator and Eligibility

These Terms apply when you register for, access, or use Smorio. Smorio is currently operated by its founder, Joy Maity. You must be at least 18 years old or otherwise legally competent to enter into a binding contract under applicable law. When you use Smorio for a studio or other business, you are responsible for having authority to manage that account and its uploaded content.

Smorio is currently founder-operated. Public legal and customer-facing information describes the current operating status only. Smorio does not represent itself as a registered company, GST-registered business, registered-office holder, certified service, or other status unless that status has actually been obtained and published.

Smorio may ask you to review and accept an updated policy before using affected account features. Stop using the service if you do not agree to the current Terms.

2. What Smorio Provides

Smorio provides a Studio Dashboard for folders, Smart Print creation, media preparation, QR downloads, browser-based scanning and playback, plan limits, billing records, analytics estimates, and support requests.

The current Smart Print flow requires a folder and memory title, a supported printed-photo file, a supported video, available plan capacity, and successful media preparation. The Folder QR opens a scanner session. The Memory QR selects the prepared memory. The browser camera then looks for the printed-photo target.

3. Plan and File Limits

Storage, folder count, Smart Print count, video size, video duration, accepted resolution, branding, and support access depend on the active plan. The Pricing page and Billing & Limits show the current customer-facing limits, while backend enforcement determines whether a specific file or action can proceed. If a displayed customer-facing limit and the enforced limit conflict, Smorio will treat the mismatch as a product issue to correct; applicable purchase and consumer rights are not reduced by a hidden or inconsistent technical limit.

The current Free Trial is ₹0 for 10 days and includes 100MB total storage, 1 folder, 3 Smart Prints in total and in that folder, up to 1080p upload resolution, up to 60 seconds and 30MB per video, Smorio playback branding, the Smorio QR logo, no custom logo, no Verified Studio access, no storage add-on, and self-service support.

A resolution limit is the largest accepted upload resolution, not a promise that every video will be delivered or displayed at that resolution on every network or device. A plan described as having no numeric folder cap still has total storage limits, per-folder Smart Print limits, and fair-use rules.

An enabled storage add-on increases total storage only while an eligible paid base plan is active. It does not change the plan tier, folder cap, Smart Print cap, per-video limits, resolution limit, branding access, or support level.

4. Studio Content, Acceptable Use and Fair Use

You remain responsible for the photos, videos, audio, names, logos, descriptions, and links submitted through your account. You must have the copyright, permission, consent, or other legal basis needed to upload, host, process, and share that content.

Do not upload illegal, abusive, exploitative, non-consensual, privacy-violating, hateful, malware-containing, or third-party copyrighted content that you are not permitted to use. Do not use Smorio to probe or bypass security controls, automate abusive traffic, scrape protected areas, evade plan or storage limits, interfere with other accounts, distribute malware, or use access tokens for an unauthorized purpose. Smorio may rate-limit, restrict, suspend, or remove content or accounts when reasonably necessary for safety, service integrity, legal requests, fair-use enforcement, or these Terms.

Fair-use enforcement addresses abusive, automated, security-impacting, or technically excessive patterns outside normal studio use. It does not silently replace or reduce a numeric entitlement that is expressly included in the active plan, except where a temporary restriction is reasonably necessary to protect the service or other users.

5. License Needed to Provide the Service

You or the relevant rights holder keep the rights that already exist in uploaded media. You give Smorio a limited, non-exclusive permission to host, copy, process, create technical derivatives, deliver, and display that content only as needed to operate the service, enforce the account settings, investigate problems, and meet applicable retention or legal obligations.

This permission reduces after content is deleted, but removal from active service may not instantly remove records from temporary processing systems, backups, billing records, security logs, or legally required retention.

6. QR Access and Sharing

Smorio validates signed Folder and Memory tokens and rejects invalid or expired access. Client videos are not listed in a public Smorio video directory.

Anyone who receives a valid QR code or memory link may be able to open it. A recipient can forward access, and a viewer may record the screen or camera output. You are responsible for deciding where printed QR codes are placed, who receives them, and what you tell clients about access.

7. Accounts and Security

Keep your password, email access, authenticator access, and signed-in devices under your control. Do not share OTPs, UPI PINs, CVVs, full card numbers, bank passwords, or account passwords with Smorio Support or any other person.

Smorio may rate-limit, temporarily block, suspend, or require additional verification when activity appears automated, abusive, fraudulent, unsafe, or inconsistent with these Terms.

8. Pricing, Payments and Renewal

Where paid checkout is enabled for an eligible account, checkout is in INR through Razorpay. Prices and product availability are taken from the active billing configuration and shown before payment. Only products that are enabled and actually presented in checkout are offered for purchase; internal, disabled, future, or support-only product definitions are not an offer. The invoice reflects the amount and any tax applied to that transaction.

Paid studio plans use manual annual checkout. Enabled storage add-ons also use manual checkout for the duration displayed before payment. Smorio does not automatically debit the next term. A bank debit does not by itself prove that Smorio received a successful payment; entitlement activation requires verified payment status.

Refund and cancellation requests follow the current Refund & Cancellation Policy.

8.1 Storage Add-on Terms

A storage add-on is available only when the relevant add-on is enabled in the live billing catalog and the account is otherwise eligible. The checkout page is the source of truth for the currently offered pack, price, duration, and any introductory-price eligibility. A disabled pack, an internal catalog entry, or an old help article does not create a right to purchase that product.

An add-on increases total hosted-storage capacity only. It does not change the studio plan tier or create extra folder, Smart Print, video-duration, resolution, branding, verification, or support entitlements unless the checkout explicitly says otherwise. Add-on checkout is manual and Smorio does not promise automatic renewal or automatic debit.

9. Availability and Backups

Smorio depends on hosting, storage, network, browser, device, camera, email, and payment providers. The service is provided without a guaranteed uptime percentage unless Smorio separately signs a written service-level agreement that says otherwise.

Playback may fail or vary because of unsupported files, print quality, lighting, camera permission, browser behavior, device capability, internet conditions, provider outages, maintenance, or other events outside Smorio's control. Keep independent copies of every original photo and video. Smorio is not your only source-media backup.

10. Free Trial, Paid-Plan Expiry and Deletion

The Free Trial runs for exactly 10 days from activation. Upgrade before the exact expiry time to preserve trial-created folders, Smart Prints, hosted media, and QR mappings. The Free Trial has no grace period. At expiry, uploads, creation, dashboard content access, scanner access, QR access, and playback for trial content stop, and the content enters the permanent-deletion queue at the beginning of the 11th trial day.

After trial deletion processing begins, a later paid plan starts with an empty workspace and does not restore deleted or deletion-queued trial content. The Studio account and limited policy, billing, security, support, and deletion-audit records may remain where required or reasonably necessary.

When an annual paid plan expires without renewal, new uploads and Smart Print creation stop. Existing published playback remains available during the current 23-day paid-plan grace period. Content may remain retained but inaccessible through day 60 for verified renewal. Without a verified renewal before the retention deadline, hosted folders, Smart Prints, media, QR mappings, and related playback records are queued for permanent deletion on day 60.

Smorio may send transactional lifecycle warnings before and after plan expiry. Permanent deletion cannot be reversed. Account deletion requests require the confirmation steps shown in Account Settings and may not remove billing, invoice, security, dispute, or legal records that must or reasonably need to be retained.

11. Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Smorio is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, lost business opportunity, reputational harm, client claims caused by studio content or sharing, or loss of source files that the studio was responsible for backing up.

Nothing in these Terms excludes a responsibility, consumer remedy, or other right that applicable law does not allow Smorio to exclude. Any monetary-liability limit will be interpreted according to applicable law and the amount paid for the affected service.

12. Changes and Support

Smorio may change the product, available features, limits, providers, or these Terms. Material policy changes may require renewed acceptance. A feature shown as unavailable, support-managed, beta, disabled, future, or not offered in checkout is not promised for immediate delivery.

Use Studio Support for account, billing, privacy, security, and product questions. Ordinary support priority depends on the plan and issue category; Smorio does not promise a fixed response time unless a separate written commitment or applicable law requires one. Consumer grievances follow the process described on the Contact Support page.

13. Governing Law and Statutory Rights

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, subject to any mandatory law, consumer right, forum, or jurisdiction that applies to a particular user or transaction. Nothing in these Terms requires a consumer to waive a remedy or the right to approach a consumer commission, regulator, court, or other authority where applicable law preserves that right.
